This dynamic individual is checking off his "to-do" list and accomplishing a wide range of task before most people have poured their second cup of coffee. He never stops. That's just Shane, he's a driven individual with an invigorating approach to life. Whether he's sending a scorching drive down the fairway at the golf club, preparing a spread of food for friends and family or picking the guitar, Shane is taking life at full-throttle. But if you want to see what truly gets his heart racing, just watch his eyes light up when he mentions his family. Family is the inspiration for everything Shane does in life.
ALL ABOUT FAMILY
Indeed, for Shane, family is at the center of his universe, both personally and professionally. He relishes every moment he can spend with his wife, Vanessa, and their four children, Lindsey, Anna, and Olivia (Anna and Olivia are twins) and Mary George. So whether they're enjoying the playground or a swim in the pool, the Vandergriffs are connecting with each other and savoring the good life in the Guntersville area.
A CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK
Shane credits his father with instilling in him a strong sense of family as well as a diligent work ethic. Shane's father, a home builder and Realtor for 24 years in Guntersville, built quite a reputation as a long-standing businessman in the area. "I grew up around my dad's business and helped him out at an early age. I remember vividly that he was always treating people well and had exemplary work habits," he adds. Shane continues to emulate his father's example, both by ascertaining a full understanding of his client's needs and by making sure to balance his family life with his professional life.
Born and raised in Guntersville, Shane is a familiar face in this quaint community. He was heavily involved in sports growing up and continues to play golf as often as he can. After earning a degree in Marketing from Jacksonville State University, Shane came back to be a part of the family business. Anyone who knows this dynamic businessman will tell you building relationships is key. "From my point of view, any relationship worth having, for however long is one worth making the most of," he says. Shane has a knack for connecting with people from all walks of life.
CONNECTED TO THE COMMUNITY
In fact, when Shane was diagnosed with cancer, it was amazing to see how the community responded. Different friends rotated driving him to and from his treatments (about an hour away). "The outpouring of support from my community was inspirational," Shane notes. And while he overcame his challenging bout with cancer, the experience taught him to appreciate things a little more and to truly get the most out of each day.
Shane's drive to take over his father's business and continue the family legacy in Guntersville is what ultimately led him to the real estate field. But making friends and fostering relationships is what has given him repeated success. "It is the perfect business where you can make a positive impact on a family's future." he explains. Shane understands that buying and selling real estate is a huge event in most people's lives. And while to some degree it is a business transaction, it is very much a personal transaction. He makes it a point to place his emphasis on people, not just
